Ughelli, Delta State, Nigeria – December 20, 2020 – The Oke Umurhohwo Foundation proudly announces the successful conclusion of the inaugural Oke Umurhohwo Football Cup, held in Ughelli, Delta State. This groundbreaking event marks the beginning of an annual tradition aimed at promoting football talent and fostering community spirit in our hometown.
Semi-Final Highlights
The semi-finals of the Oke Umurhohwo Football Cup 2020 were a showcase of local football talent and fierce competition. The first match saw Ortega FC from Ovwor facing off against Super Sheraton of Ughelli at 1 PM. Ortega FC, having topped Group A, entered the semi-finals with a strong record of two wins and one draw. Their opponents, Super Sheraton, secured their semi-final spot with one win and two draws.
In a closely contested match, Ortega FC emerged victorious, securing their place in the final. Later in the day, Ughelli All Stars faced off against Ughelli United in a highly anticipated local derby. Ughelli All Stars advanced to the semi-finals by defeating Soccer Kings of Euemukowharien, while Ughelli United made it through due to a protest win against 11 Planners FC.
Grand Finale
The grand finale, held at Ogor Technical College on December 18, 2020, was an exhilarating event that captivated the entire community. Ughelli All Stars FC triumphed over Super Sheraton FC with a decisive 3-1 victory, becoming the first-ever champions of the Oke Umurhohwo Football Cup. The atmosphere was electric, with fans and dignitaries in attendance, cheering passionately for their teams.
